Time Management in the AI Age: Building More Leverage with AI

Join us on October 21from 1:00 PM–2:30 PM at the Frost Bank Tower [401 Congress Ave. – 11th Floor Conference Room – Ste 1160] for a hands-on AI workshop with Steven Rea, CPM, Chief Innovation Officer with Northpoint and past president of IREM Austin.
Bring your laptop. Bring one recurring task that takes too much of your time. Leave with a working AI workflow designed to help you do it better.
AI is changing what effective time management looks like. The opportunity is no longer simply to organize your calendar more effectively or squeeze more activity into the workday. Today’s commercial and residential property management professionals can use AI to reduce repetitive work, process information faster, eliminate unnecessary context switching, and spend more of their time on the judgment, relationships, and decisions that actually require a human being.
This hands-on workshop will move beyond generic AI demonstrations and one-off prompts. Participants will identify a real recurring task from their own work, break down how that work gets done, and build a reusable AI “skill” designed to help perform it faster and more consistently. Examples might include owner communications, vendor comparisons, meeting preparation and follow-up, resident escalations, property reports, inspections, market updates, employee coaching, research, or other recurring operational work.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify where repetitive work, context switching, and information processing are consuming their time.
- Separate work that requires human judgment from work that can be accelerated by AI.
- Use a practical framework to eliminate, simplify, standardize, automate, or augment recurring work.
- Recognize the types of work AI is particularly effective at performing, including organizing, summarizing, comparing, drafting, transforming, and synthesizing information.
- Move beyond one-off prompts and design reusable AI workflows around recurring responsibilities.
- Define the inputs, context, process, output, guardrails, and quality checks necessary for a reliable AI-assisted workflow.
- Test and improve AI-generated work rather than blindly trusting the first result.
- Identify opportunities to progressively move recurring work from manual execution toward repeatable and potentially automated workflows
